Are you ready for some football?

I hope you are! Because this weekend marks the annual clash of the best two teams in the league- SUPER.BOWL.SUNDAY.
This year, Super Bowl LIII will be taking place at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA on Sunday, February 3rd at 6:30p. The New England Patriots will be taking on the Los Angeles Rams to claim the title and bragging rights of the best team in the U.S… that is until next year of course.
The Super Bowl is more than just football though. Oh yes, way more. For starters, millions tune in to watch the savvy commercials that are often as popular as the football game itself. And they should because commercial slots during the Super Bowl are extremely expensive. This year, the average advertisement slot cost $5.2 million days; just for a 30-second slot! Trends show that the average cost per commercial slot is steadily treading upwards. Within the last decade, the cost has doubled for ad slots.
Oh, and we cannot forget the halftime show! This year, Maroon 5, Travis Scott and Big Boi will take the stage. Past performers have included Beyonce, Madonna, and Lady Gaga. It was reported that some initially asked musical artists, namely Rihanna, Cardi B, and P!nk, refused to perform at the Super Bowl. Their reasons included no commentary to standing in solidarity to support #ColinKapernick, his advocacy for racial injustices and perceived mistreatment from the NFL due to his decision to kneel during the national anthem at games.
Lastly, let’s talk celebration. Generally, people have Super Bowl parties in which people gather, watch the game and have classic game day food. The game day diet typically consists of foods such as pizza, chicken wings, chips and dip or BBQ.
So, we want to know: how do you game day? What does Super Bowl look like for you? Will you celebrate this year? Are you going to Atlanta to join in on the festivities?
